I was working on my cosplay stuff the other day, kind of last minute like I always do before an event, and ran into an issue I couldn’t figure out. Their support team got back to me quickly and was super nice about the whole thing. It wasn’t even a huge problem in the end, but they helped me sort it out fast and made the whole process way less stressful...

The line situation was kind of a mess. It didn’t seem like anyone had really thought through where people were supposed to go, and different staff members kept telling us different things. We waited way too long, only to be moved somewhere else again. It was really frustrating and, to be fair, it started the whole day off on a bad note.

"Guest list felt underwhelming"
I was expecting a stronger guest lineup this year. It felt kind of weak overall, and there wasn’t much of that real-person energy or excitement you usually hope for at these events.

"Updates were fine, but I hate waiting around"
They did send updates, so I’ll give them that, but they weren’t always when I actually needed them. I don’t have a ton of patience for chasing people or sitting around wondering what’s going on, so the slow communication got frustrating.

"Hardly any places to sit and such a waste of energy"
I went to Anime Frontier the lack of seating was really annoying. I expected crowds, sure, but I didn’t expect finding a place to sit to feel like a whole separate mission.
Unless you got there super early, there was basically nowhere to rest. People were sitting on the floor, leaning against walls, and just trying to recover wherever they could. After walking around for hours, it felt like I was wasting so much energy just searching for a spot to take a break.
For what tickets cost, they really need to plan this better. I wanted to spend my time enjoying the event, not dragging myself around looking for somewhere to sit down.
"Decent overall, but the refund policy is tight"
I bought passes for Anime Frontier, and then, of course, my plans ended up changing. When I looked into refunds, it was basically a no-refunds situation, which was disappointing.
They do let you transfer passes, so at least there’s that. You just have to make sure you do it within the right window and follow their process, which felt a little clunky to figure out, but not a total nightmare.
I get that big events need rules and all that, but a little more flexibility would’ve been nice. I’m not totally turned off, though. I’d probably still consider trying again next year

"Badge Pickup Was Frustrating"
The registration line took way too long, and the whole badge pickup process was confusing. I wasn’t the only one who felt that way either, a lot of people around me seemed unsure where to go or what to do next. It definitely could’ve been organized better for attendees...

"Plenty to Browse in the Vendor Hall"
I was happy with the vendor hall. There was a good mix of figures, prints, clothes, and random anime merch you don’t always come across at every con. If you’re already there, it just makes sense to take your time and look around because there’s a lot packed in. I ended up spending way longer in there than I expected.

I went to Anime Frontier and thought the main stage looked really cool. The lights, screens, and overall setup made the panels feel exciting when they kicked off, and it had that big convention energy you hope for.
The sound was the one thing that kept throwing me off, though. Sometimes it was blasting way too loud, and other times I was straining to hear what people were saying. There were a few mic hiccups too, so it made me feel like convention stages in general can look amazing but still miss the basics if the audio isn’t dialed in. Not a dealbreaker, just something that could be smoother...

"Way too expensive for what you get"
I was planning to go with a few friends, but once we saw the ticket prices, it just didn’t feel worth it. The whole thing came across as overpriced for what it offers, which was disappointing

Parking wasn’t the worst, but it definitely could’ve been easier. I had to circle around longer than expected, and when I mentioned it, I just got one of those canned “sorry for the inconvenience” responses that didn’t really help anything.

I had a little trouble finding the info for my tickets, but the staff helped me out quickly once they got back to me. They were friendly and didn’t make the whole thing feel complicated or annoying. It did take a bit to hear back at first, but overall it was good support. I’d give it 4 stars.

I went mostly for the exclusive merch and was excited about it, but when I got there barely anything was available, the good stuff had already sold out really fast, and it also wasn’t super clear online what would actually be in stock, so after making the trip and ending up with basically nothing, it just felt like kind of a waste of time.

"Crowds were handled really badly"
It was way too packed, and the staff seemed like they didn’t really know what was going on. The lines were blocking everything, there weren’t any clear signs or directions, and at certain points it just felt... not safe. I kept thinking someone should be managing the crowd better, but nope. Definitely not going back.

"Getting around ended up being way more confusing than it should’ve been"
Getting around was a bit of a nightmare. The signs were either not clear, hard to spot, or just not helpful enough, so I kept second-guessing where I was supposed to go. I ended up wandering around for what felt like the whole day, taking wrong turns and having to backtrack over and over. It made the whole experience way more stressful and frustrating than I expected.

To be fair, the site was easy enough to use up until checkout, but the payment kept failing and it got annoying. I tried a few times and just couldn’t get it to go through smoothly

The kids had a good time overall, so I can’t say it was a bad visit. That said, a few areas were awkward to get through, and it kind of felt like they maybe let in more people than the space could comfortably handle. Fine for a family outing, just not the most relaxed experience

"Felt less secure than other sites I’ve used"
I got to checkout but something about it felt a little sketchy. Compared to other online stores I’ve ordered from, this one just didn’t give me the same confidence that my info would be safe. I ended up leaving without buying because I couldn’t really trust it.
